Proposed Scheme

The proposal is for a high-quality landscape and design-led sustainable scheme that will provide approximately 90 new homes of a variety of different sizes, types and tenures (including 50% affordable homes), and a care home (up to 80 beds) providing specialist accommodation to help meet the needs of the District’s ageing population.

The accompanying Proposed Scheme illustrates how the Site can be brought forward to deliver the following:

  • Extensive areas of public open space and landscaping that will deliver a series of interconnected green spaces and a perimeter walk.
  • A strong landscape boundary along the Site’s eastern boundary that provides a robust and permanent Green Belt boundary.
  • SuDS features that will form part of a site-wide blue and green infrastructure strategy.
  • Cycle and pedestrian links that will provide connectivity with the surrounding PRoW network and high levels of connectivity with existing footways and bus stops on Greensward Lane.
  • High levels of connectivity to prioritise pedestrian and cycle movements over car-based trips.
  • Formal and informal areas of play for children.
